ESD Food Project

The Asia-Pacific Cultural Centre for UNESCO (ACCU) has recently implemented an international collaborative learning activity project in partnership with Thai Education Foundation. Taking the themes of “Rice” or “Food,” this project encourages students to act as agents of change through collaboration between schools and the communities and to explore important themes such as economy, society and culture, biodiversity, climate change, food safety, consumption and traditional culture. A planning workshop was organized by UNESCO (ACCU) for sharing and planning the programs in 4 countries (India, Japan, Indonesia and Thailand) in Tokyo in 2016 and follow up workshop was held in Dhakar in 2018.

Thai students from Chachoengsao and Chiangmai were able to exchange their school garden cooking activities through mobile phone application.

A successful international exchange visit was coordinated in August 2015 during which teachers from Japan visited Chiang Mai and met students and teachers from Chachoengsao Province to exchange ideas and experiences relating to the ESD Food Project.
