TEF conducted a participatory action research project on pesticides impacts to school children in 55 schools from Chiangmai, Pathumthani, Sakon Nakorn and Phang Nga provinces in 2018. The project created awareness on the impacts of pesticides by having schools using test kits and tested the vegetables and school lunch ingredients while samplings were also tested by Chiangmai University’s laboratory. The project assisted schools to developed integrated school gardens and works with organic farmers nearby to supply to school lunch. Results of pesticides impacts to children were disseminated at provincial, national levels and paved ways for local and national school lunch policies for further expansion in coming years.
